7 key ideas to make
the most of AI as a
teacher

For teachers who want to save time, be more creative, and have a bigger impact in their classroom.

Paul is perfectly placed to understand the needs, challenges and expectations of and on teachers, and willing to be a partner in our learning at each stage of our College’s AI journey.

How I use AI to save time, increase my creativity, and have a bigger impact...

Hi, I'm Paul.

You probably don’t need me to tell you this, but I’ll say it anyway:

It’s not easy being a teacher.

I should know. I am one.

And I nearly burned out earlier this year. I found myself so busy with:

  • Duties

  • Emails

  • Marking

  • Planning

  • Meetings

  • Pastoral Care

  • Parent Meetings

But did you notice what’s missing?

TEACHING!

I felt drained before I even set foot in the classroom.
It’s a safe bet that you’ve felt this pressure too. In fact, 70% of teachers say their workload is unmanageable. Not hard. Not tricky to manage. Unmanageable.

But don’t worry - it’s not all bad news. I may have some of the best news you’ve heard in a long time.

(That's me speaking at TEDx Hobart about AI and education, May 2024)

AI can help you be a better teacher.

AI is not here to take your job, it’s here to help you do a better job.
I absolutely believe that AI can go a long way to stoping teacher burnout, and helping teachers cut through busywork and getting back to doing what they love.

7 key AI principles you should know.

Yes, AI is the tool we need, but here’s the thing:
There’s not a single tool that works well if you don’t know how to use it!

So many teachers I work with had previously written off AI because they thought it was a limited and generic technology.
In reality, they just didn’t know how to use it!
After learning my 7 key principles, they found themselves:

- Saving time
- Loving their job
- Having a bigger impact in their classroom

I’ve helped everyone from brand new teachers to four-decade veterans to wrap their heads around AI and get amazing results. If I can help them, I can help you.
